What is Leukaemia?

Leukaemia is a malignant disease (cancer) of the bone marrow and blood.

It is characterised by the uncontrolled accumulation of blood cells, just as there are many different types of white blood cell, so there are many different types of leukaemia.

Leukaemia is the general term used to describe four different disease-types called:

Acute Myelognous Leukaemia (AML)
Acute Lymphocytic Leukaemia (ALL)
Chronic Myelogenous Leukaemia (CML)
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL)

This International Peace Poster Contest was organized by Lions Club of Zone 18. The theme for this contest was The Power of Peace. Only 20 pupils registered up for the contest. All trophies and the first three cash prizes were sponsored by the District. Other expenses were shared between the Lions Club from Zone 18.
